Hydro Test Pressure Pump
"Hydrostatic Testing" is a diagnostic
technique to test pipes, tubes, hoses, cylinders, pressure vessels,
boilers, etc. for leaks or defects. The equipment to be tested is
filled with an incompressible liquid, usually water or oil. With the
help of a Positive Displacement Triplex Plunger Pump incorporating
appropriate safety relief's and controls, the pressure of the test
component is slowly increased to a predetermined set point and held for
a predetermined time. Visual inspection is subsequently performed to
determine whether any leakage exists or the pressure reduces from set
pressure point.
This High Pressure Triplex Plunger Pump
is widely used for "Hydro Test" application because of its following
advantages.
|
|
|
• User friendly & quickest method for
"Hydro Test". Thus, saves valuable time.
• Environmental friendly method.
• Builds up the desired pressure
uniformly & smoothly.
• Reduces operating & maintenance
costs.
• Compact
& light weight for easy
installation.

PressureJet has supplied several pumps
for Hydro Test applications to various clients like Nuclear Fuel complex
(Hyderabad), L&T, Essar Constructions, Kalpataru Power Transmission,
Sandvik Asia Ltd. (Chhatral), Welspun Gujarat Stahl Rohren Ltd. (Gandhidham),
PSL Holdings Ltd. (Gandhidham) & many more. |

| How To Select Right Hydro Test Pump? |
| At
the out set, please be noted that following criteria are important while
selecting a Hydro Test pump. |
| 1)
Time 2) Pump Flow Rate 3) Pump Pressure 4) Frequency of Tests. |
| |
Basically, hydro test frequency, volume of the equipment to be tested,
time and at what pressure hydro test is to be carried out, is very
essential. These parameters are the main criteria for the customer, who
should have to submit the same to the manufacturer and let manufacturer decide the flow
rate on the basis of the volume of equipment to be tested. Several time, customer, at his own, decides the volume and in majority
cases, either it is under rating (where too much time requires to
complete Hydro Test) OR over rating (where unnecessary bigger & costly)
pump is selected. |
To
avoid such mistake, please go through the below mentioned write up.
|
-
Time : It is very important to inform the
time available to achieve desired pressure. If more time is
available, then low flow, smaller pump can be selected, which will
be a cheaper solution.
-
Flow
rate : If you have this information, then
you can provide straightway to reduce communication.
You may also furnish your existing
pump detail for better selection.
-
Pressure : Normally, customer should select 10
to 20% more pressure than requirement. Several times, customer
thinks that Higher Pressure Pump may be needed for future
application. Based on that, they propose quite high pressure also.
In such circumstances, you can surf our website thoroughly and
select suitable model.
There are many models, where price may be almost same for different
pressure, only motor and other miscellaneous accessories
will be changed and total cost impact may be too small e.g. If you
select T2-15-10 model for 2 LPM / 125 kg/cm2 / 1 HP or if you select 1.6 LPM / 375 kg/cm2 / 2 HP,
there may be hardly 10 to 15% price difference between 125 kg/cm2 and 375 kg/cm2 as the model is same.
-
Minimum and Maximum volume of the
equipment to be tested : We have an experience that due to
lack of knowledge, several times, when customer informs flow rate of
the pump, they also consider the filling up volume, which actually
should not be considered.
For Large Volume test, in majority cases, flow rate selection is
found wrong. Therefore, we suggest you to inform us the volume or
size of the equipment to be hydrotested, to select optimum size of
the pump.
# Some Important tips to select flow rate of the pump.
a) Do not consider and use
High Pressure Reciprocating Plunger Pump to fill up the equipment as
it
takes more time.
b) If you use High Pressure Pump to fill up large volume equipment,
you will have to select higher
volume pump, which will result in unnecessary more
investment on pump and electric motor. You
will also require unnecessary huge connected load.
c) For large volume equipment, use centrifugal / multistage /
vertical turbine pump to fill up the
equipment with certain pressure and then use High
Pressure Plunger Pump to pressurize water to
achieve desired pressure in minimum time. This is the
only way you can get the result with economic
solution.
